Jesus Is Lord

Acknowledging Jesus as Lord means recognizing His authority over all creation and surrendering our lives to Him. Romans 10:9-13 reminds us that salvation comes when we confess Jesus as Lord and believe in His resurrection. His Lordship is not just over our salvation, but over every aspect of our lives. As 1 Chronicles 29:11 declares, all greatness, power, and glory belong to Him, and everything in heaven and on earth is under His reign.

Hebrews 1:3 emphasizes that Jesus upholds the universe by the word of His power, reminding us of His active and sovereign rule. Trusting in Him means relying on His wisdom and strength, as Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us to lean not on our own understanding but trust the Lord in all things. Like Job 12:7-10 teaches, even the natural world testifies to His control over life itself, and we, as His creation, are called to trust in that same care.

Our lives are not our own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and in surrendering to His Lordship, we trust Him with everything—including our marriages, families, and decisions. When Jesus asks in Luke 6:46, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” it’s a call for us to not only acknowledge His authority with our lips but to live it out with faith and trust.

Because of what Christ has done for us—laying down His life and redeeming us—His love compels us to trust Him deeply with every detail of our lives. Whether it’s our marriage, our careers, or the struggles we face, we can place them in His hands, confident that He is both Lord and trustworthy.
