Unlocking Divine Knowledge

Sep 3, 2023    Raul Otero

In this week's sermon, we'll focus on a rather peculiar aspect of 2 Peter 1:5—Knowledge. At first glance, the topic may seem out of place within the larger narrative. However, upon closer examination, we'll see how Peter intricately weaves this into the fabric of Christian growth and moral excellence.

The Bible offers a multi-dimensional view of knowledge. It isn't merely an intellectual pursuit but a form of intimacy and relationship with God. It's a vital part of how we make moral and ethical decisions in our lives.

Our additional reference scriptures, such as Proverbs 1:7 and Proverbs 9:10, illustrate that "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge." This type of knowledge goes beyond mere facts or data; it encompasses a deep, spiritual understanding that leads us toward a life of holiness, devoid of sin.

We'll also touch upon how a growth in knowledge should accompany our faith, as mentioned in 2 Peter 3:18, and how putting away falsehood and embracing truth, as pointed out in Colossians 3:9, contributes to this godly knowledge.

By understanding the biblical concept of knowledge, we'll not only enrich our spiritual lives but also make wiser choices that honor God.

So, join us in unlocking the wisdom that leads to holiness and a life pleasing to God.
